Indiana Jones for a new generation

Lucasfilm's celebrated action/adventure hero, Indiana Jones, the forerunner of popular characters such as Lara Croft, will be making a triumphant return in 2008 with the yet-to-be-titled fourth installment of the Indiana Jones film series. Starring Harrison Ford and directed by Steven Spielberg, the film is slated for release in May 2008. Dark Horse Comics is excited to announce that it has acquired the comic book rights to the world's most famous adventurer and will launch a new series in 2008. Fans can plunge themselves into the adventures of the fedora-wearing archaeologist well before then. In February 2008, Dark Horse Comics will publish the first of two Indiana Jones Omnibuses collecting Dark Horse's previous entries in the saga. Then April sees the release of volume one of Indiana Jones Adventures--a digest-sized graphic novel designed for the enjoyment of young readers as well as adults. The Indiana Jones Adventures volumes and the Omnibuses will continue on a quarterly basis--including Omnibuses for the original Marvel run of Indiana Jones comics.

A comics adaptation of the film will be released simultaneously with the motion picture, followed immediately by an all-new Indiana Jones comics series.

Review: Ultimate Avengers on DVD

The DVD for the first Marvel animated film [straight to DVD] comes out next week [Feb 26th] and it is called The Ultimate Avengers. Obviously it is a story about the Avengers. Who are the Avengers? They are a group of super heroes lead by Captain American. The members are mostly loans who now must work together to save the world. Besides Captain American the Avengers are comprised of The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Wasp and Giant Man.

Since this is a first for the Avenger films we get loaded down with lots of back story, especially Captain America [but then again he is the main guy in the series]. I had a chance to see this film last week [lucky me got it before street date]. And it really is not a bad film, liked the animation, it reminded me of the good old days of cartoons on TV --- Spider-man and the X-men shows. Looking forward to having the chance to see more Marvel animated films in the future. So everyone head out and pick this up next week when it comes out and show your support....the further away from character introductions we get the better the stories will be.

When you do get it check out the special features, the interviews with the different writers and artists is well worth watching and it will fill you in on the history of the Avengers, if, like me, you know very little about them.

On the Second of April at Midnight at walmart (and target and toysrus)The new star wars episode 3 toys and other merchandise go on saleofficially. Target has an exclusive Darth Vader toy, Toys r us has anexclusive Yoda toy ( www.theforce.net for info) walmarts exclusivehasnt been listed yet, but toys, books, games ect all go on sale atmidnight friday night/saturday morning for you late night peeps, forthe rest saturday at walmart for the kids there will be an opprotunityto get their pic taken with darth vader from 10 am - 2pm, check to seeif your walmart for sure is doing this but as far as I know ALL of emare supposed to be.I know we have a lot of star wars fans and thought Id spread the word for those with these stores available.
